Re: Installing new Firefox 57 Quantum
I used about:config to search out the following terms and fix some thingsTeksonik wrote:Make sure you check the settings to see if anything should be changed like.....
FF 111617-1.jpg
onboard
telemetry (cute word, now gone, NO TRACKING)
newtabpage (turned off those irritating videos that start playing when opening a tab in background)
newtab (I prefer a blank page, and even though that's easy in preferences to change, I didn't want any of those links downloading in background using bandwidth)
activity-stream
browser.URLbar (I always change things there)
datareporting (I zero a lot of that)
http (so I can nuke all such I don't prefer to be connecting, some of course I leave)

Re: Installing NewFirefox 57 Quantum
Pretty good. I redid CNET appearance for when I visit there. There is a new Stylish available that works in 57 now. Colored tabs is also available now for those who like that.karlchen wrote:Hm. Yes and no. Yes, compared to FF56.0 beautified by CTR. No, compared to FF56.0 pure.Pierre wrote:the new FF57 update [...] looks a bit clunky, when compared to FF56, though.
Already started pimping its dull black on gray areas a bit, just a tiny little bit.

Re: [SOLVED] Installing new Firefox 57 Quantum
NoScript 10 for FF Quantum is now out:
https://noscript.net/getit
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /noscript/
At my post time: NoScript Version 10.1.1 is in my Firefox 57.0 (32-bit) for Mint Cinnamon v17.2.
All I can say is this new Version of NoScript seems next to useless compared with the older version. [But let's be fair now, this is an infant release.]
* Now if I click the NoScript icon NOTHING happens - no drop-down list - nothing. I have ZERO control over which sites are blocked - or not.
* No way to see or clear the notorious Whitelist.
* I go to a site with blocked scripts and a little number appears over the NoScript icon. Who knows what that jumber means? Blocked scripting sites? If yes, then there is a VERY promiscuous default Whitelist in effect because the site I visited I know has LOTS of scrpting, but the pop-up number over the NoScript icon shows just [2].
With all these problems, I disabled NoScript for now but left it installed. At least it should get updates now and I can re-enable it for particularly nasty scripting sites. Progress is good...
