I would type
How do I access Firefox's profile manager and create new profile?

in a search engine and find this page:

"Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles"
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pr ... x-profiles
Xubuntu 17.10/fluxbox/pulse-less
Mint 18.2 Xfce/fluxbox/pulse-less
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?

firefox -p That worked this time. Go figure! I went back thru history using the "up" key to verify that I used that command before. I did in fact use firefox -p in the terminal after closing FF, but did not get the desired effect, Firefox just came up as it normally would. firefox -p now works as it should.
