NFS export failure on Linux with space on shared folder

Post by Hermano » Mon Dec 11, 2017 9:30 pm

Good night everyone,

i'm implanting a file server with NFS, but i've tried adding a directory with spaces, it didn't work, the system returns its isn't supported.

file /etc/exports
/folder1 xx.xx.xx.xx/24(rw)
/folder esp2 xx.xx.xx.xx/24(rw)

after executing exportfs -var
exporting xx.xx.xx.xx/24:/folder1
exporting xx.xx.xx.xx/24:/folder esp2
exportfs: /folder esp2 does not support NFS export

attempts
some websites suggests using /folder\040esp2; "/folder esp2"; "/folder\ esp2", but without success, i hope someone passed throght something similar and give me a hand.

Thanks.

Hello Hermano Image

Welcome to Linux Mint and the Linux Mint forum :)

If exportfs won't cooperate, try using a symlink to "/folder esp2" and use that for the export.
