Re: Install Wine mint 18
Wine may not be necessary as the windows pRogRams you wish to run may have Linux equivalents.

FWIW, I've never seen a thread here where someone complained about Wine messing up their system, nor do I find one from a quick search of the archive. Threads like this, yes, but none of the "uh oh" type. What you're really up against is the inscrutability of Debian package management, where we're given warnings we have no means to evaluate. Pretty useless, actually, but it's not changing anytime soon.
Anyhoo, I ran into the remove-packages issue myself when I installed Wine (don't recall which ones). Decided to go ahead, based mainly on the reputation of the project (they've been at this a long time). Also, I always have a full system backup, so I knew I could restore if necessary. IMHO, if you don't have full backup you should get that regardless of what you do about Wine, but obviously that's your decision.
By the way, my hunch is that the two packages you mention are actually being replaced. But that's just a hunch.

No need to be rude. And, by the way, you misread my post.
Re: Install Wine mint 18
I was not rude, I just replayed the same way you did. I just wanted some help.
