Cannot install Viber

Post by whois1230 »

Hi, I'm running Mint 18.3 and downloaded Viber for Debian, but I can't install it, as I get the following error: https://i.imgur.com/YGOZTCA.jpg --- I found Viber in the Software Manager, is that reliable? It only has 1 review...

Not surprised, you aren't running a Debian system.

Yes, go for the repo version. That's almost always the best choice. One of the biggest noob problems is using non repo software when they don't understand the implications,

Hi "whois1230",

I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.

It would help to know more about your system setup. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" and "lsusb" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.

Try installing the one from the repository (Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager (SPM). If that does not work for you, try the link below.

This is another post on installing Viber.

Hope this helps ...

That must be the flatpak version, right?
