I am having the same problem with Rosa 17.3, virtualbox manager starts up fine, but when I try to create a vm it always crashes with:
(Manjaro or any Linux distro)
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Manjaro.
The virtual machine 'Manjaro' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1).
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: MachineWrap
Interface: IMachine {f30138d4-e5ea-4b3a-8858-a059de4c93fd}
There are a lot of suggestions out on the web, but none work. It has been months since I have used virtualbox and I really miss testing various Linux distros.

Re: VirtualBox stopped working after Kernel Update - Linux Headers issue?
@corcaigher
The trouble with your post is, that you give nearly no information. Not about the kernel you use in the host and not about the version of VB.
