Hi there,
After some messing around, I was finally able to install Elixir and Erlang on Mint 18.2, but Elixir is only version 1.0.4 with Erlang being version 17.
I found a really helpful install script that solved the uninstallable dependencies issue that seems to be the issue for installation here: https://github.com/DataMelon/install-elixir-1.0.4
However this is quite old now as Erlang is now at version 20 and Elixir is version 1.6.x. Is there an easy way to upgrade this, or is it just not really supported in Debian based distributions?

Maybe you can find a PPA for you: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=erlang
