3rd party and official repos get stuck showing waiting for headers and timeout

Post by jackal_1586 »

Hi everyone, I installed linux mint 18.3 two days ago. yesterday I was trying to install git.But it says waiting for headers. I searched google and found that I need to disable IPv6 and I did that. But no improvement. I also changed to different servers but still no luck. I changed pipeline depth to 0 but didn't help. Can anyone help me with this issue? Also, I had the same problem with upgrading gcc from toolchain-r/test.
I run the following command.

Code: Select all

inxi -Frxzc0 | pastebin
Output:

Hello jackal_1586 and Welcome to Linux Mint Forums,

I would try this first. go to software sources and temporarily disable the git hub ppas. Then try

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
what happens? Post any error messages you get. It's always a good Idea when this happens to disable the last repositories you added and see if that's the problem.
good luck.
