This also happened with Firefox 57.
I watch Live YouTube videos in full screen, and after about 15-30 minutes I get bufferring issues and laggy performance. Upon checking system monitor I see that Firefox is using up to 700MB ram. Even after closing the tab the ram is still high. Has anyone else seen this?

Re: Firefox 58 Memory Leak?
Possibly a problem with your FF-profile:
To find this out do the following:
Close FF.
Open your file-manager and make hidden files visible (press ctrl-h).
Rename the folder .mozilla to .mozilla.bck
Start FF, this will create automatically a new FF-profile.
Check.
To get back to your old profile:
Close FF.
Delete the new folder .mozilla
Rename the folder .mozila.bck back to .mozilla
Start FF. Done.

Re: [SOLVED] Firefox 58 Memory Leak?
Thank you for this tip. I tried your advice and it worked as far as cleaning up Firefox as if it were a clean install, yet YouTube continues to inflate Firefox ram usage. I've tested with other streaming services and have determined that YouTube is indeed the culprit. I watch Fox News Live and CNN Live on YouTube and I have no idea why this happens. Perhaps YouTube is infiltrated with Crypto Currency mining javascript? Who knows?
