weird firefox search effect

Postby qiemem » Fri Dec 08, 2006 10:54 pm

Hi all, just started using Linux Mint today. Gotta say, I'm lovin it. Great not having to configure everything and download codecs and such (even got this mic to work that I've never been able to get working before).

Anyway, came across something kinda weird. If search for text on a page in firefox and put a space in their, the firefox windwo flashes black and all labels and contents of all windows and panels to disappear for a moment. Like a redraw delay... Really weird, never seen it before with any other distro or anything (using same version of firefox and anything). Actually, trying searching again, its doing for everything now...

Not really a problem, just really weird... definitely might freak some people out.

Also, though linux mint is pretty awesome, it seems that applications and menus and such open a bit slower than with ubuntu or kubuntu... Anyone else noticed this?

weird, if you run firefox from the terminal does it spit any errors when it flashes?
