Hi, I have an unusual problem (i think). I use Windows 10 at work along with a Western Digital External Hard Drive (2TB Passport) which is formatted to NTFS. I back up this drive at home using grsync on Mint 18. Now, every time I back the drive up at home and then plug it back in at work something has messed up, like a corrupt spreadsheet or something. This week it was that Mozilla Portable Firefox and Portable Thunderbird decided to reset to there default installed status. No bookmarks or homepage set in Firefox, and no emails or settings in Thunderbird.
As far as I know grsync should only be copying the files from the portable Hard Drive to the backup destination on my home network, so why would it alter files on the portable hard Drive itself?
I'm not sure I've posted this in the correct area of the forum, but thanks for reading. Any help much appreciated.

Re: Software Reset
Check the drive for corruption.
