I was working on a Writer document an hour ago when suddenly the program seemed to lock: menu items show blank content; I can't save the open file. I did find a ~lock file in my /home which relates to that working file.
Should I reinstall LO, reboot the computer?
Help!

[solved?] LibreOffice Writer locked
Being nervous about losing the file, I removed/installed LO and then launched from the menu....and it now works. For now. (I immediately saved the open file)

Writer will autosave every 10 minutes, but that is a setting that you can change.

Thanks, but that function apparently was not happening: there was no saved file other than the '~lock' file which of course could not be opened.
