Compressing/decompressing files <SOLVED>

Post by Black Swordsman »

Do I need to download extra apps (such as 7zip or similar) in order to uncompress files that I might want to download?

Hello Black Swordsman and Welcome to Linux Mint Forums,
Mint comes with most needed compression/uncompression software already installed , 7zip is installed by default in most cases you just need to right click the zip/compressed file and open with your desktops version of archive manager for Cinnamon it will be Archive Manager for gnome. Works great on most files. So for most compressed files you will need no additional software. Happy Minting :)
P.S. You can compress files with the same program.
