It seems that the new install is hindered by some residues from the previously failed installations. You could try running the following commands:

Code: Select all

sudo apt remove --purge kodi*

Code: Select all

sudo apt autoremove

Code: Select all

sudo apt update

Code: Select all

sudo apt install kodi
Hope this helps.

I was having the exact same problem after a fresh install of Cinnamon 18.3 today, but your solution worked perfectly. Thanks so much :D
