How to delay launching desklets?

Post by choochooal » Sat Feb 24, 2018 8:54 pm

This may sound petty but my system is a bit fast and it boots too fast for the wi-fi to connect.
The weather desklet always comes up blank since the wi-fi is down. It's that fast/slow depending on your viewpoint.
I'm not sure I want to speed up (or can) the startup of wi-fi, it might just be the router, but if the desklets could be delayed a few seconds that would be great.
I'm running Linux Mint 18.3 64bit. On a NVMe SSD with i7 8th gen processor.
Linux Mint 18.3 and/or 19.x Cinnamon 64-bit. Dual boot with Windows 10

What is your version of Mint and what is the desktop environment? If you don't know open a terminal and enter:

Code: Select all

inxi -Sz
Paste the output here.

You need to give this information for every help request in every thread.
Do not forget this in the future.

Have you tried altering delay settings for Desklets using Startup Applications utility.
