Text-to-Speech Software on Mint

Hello folks, I used to "play" X-Plane 10 on Windows and on Ms Operating System the TTS software is somewhat included (or integrated? dunno) but now that I switched on Mint I wasn't unable to find any TTS software that could work with x-plane.
Does anyone know if there's a free tts software on linux in general, and preferably compatible with x-plane?

Thanks in advance to anyone

Hello thulias Image

Welcome to Linux Mint and the Linux Mint forum :)

The only speech application I ever tried was espeak - a real simple speech synthesizer.

In the terminal espeak hello or from a text file espeak -f ~/test

There are other results if you search with apt search espeak, but probably not for the purpose of your needs.

You can try CMU Flite - might meet your needs
