KDE does not display cyrillic fonts

Post by letian » Thu Mar 15, 2018 4:43 pm

I am trying to type in Russian characters in Konsole or rename some files in Dolphin. But I can only see `?????` characters coming out.
I tried to use different font like Dejavu but it didn't work.
I tried adding Russian language using system settings but also didn't work.
So I added Russian locale via

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
rebooted still didn't help.

Can you please explain how to enable correct cyrillic rendering in Mint?

pcmanfm correctly displays cyrillic fonts and does not rename mpr files to ????.mp3 for example like Dolphin does.
