Mint 17.3: Error When Installing Mint-Artwork-Common 1.8.9.2

Post by FenderGuy » Tue Mar 20, 2018 12:19 pm

When I try to install mint-artwork-common 1.8.9.2 via Update Manager, I incur this error message:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mint-artwork-common_1.8.9.2_all.deb: subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2

Is anyone else having this issue? How do I resolve this issue?

Thanks, guys.

I saw earlier today this https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic ... 7&t=266070 related to the same update.

Hi, FenderGuy.

The root cause might be that dpkg on Mint 17.x is not the most recent version, yet. Cf. this post (lower half) in the thread which Marziano had already pointed you to.
