I know Shift+PrtScr produces crosshairs in Cinnamon which can then be used to select parts of a photo and save.
This doesn't work in Mate, at least I cannot make it work.
Is there a snipping tool which works in Mate?
Thanks.

Re: Snipping Tool for Mate
Thanks, but I cannot select an area to grab with mate-screenshot. That option is greyed out.
EDIT: mate-screenshot of page, then crop with Gimp and adjust seems a pretty good solution.

Thanks.smgordon1259 wrote: ⤴Sun Apr 22, 2018 10:32 pm When I need to do this I use a program called SHUTTER (Look in the Software Manager and search for SHUTTER) which I am allowed to select any part of a photo and take a snapshot of that area.. works rather well.
I installed this. It seems to run as a plugin for GIMP. When I run it, it opens GIMP. When I try to select a part of the image, it blanks out the whole image and selects the entire screen. It saves this as an image of my desktop.
