Is there a way that I can make my home folder (Cinnamon) AND every sub folder default to the LIST view instead of the ICON view? I have no use for the icon view and use the list view exclusively. Having to change views on every folder every time I open one of the many I have on every disk is less than wonderful.

I think you can just go to Edit > Preferences menu in Nemo and set the "View new folders using" to "List View". Close Nemo and reopen it and it should default to list view.

Yes, this is the way to go. But it might be, that for all folders, which you had opened already in the past, you still get the display, which you had used for that folder the last time. You can also avoid that. Go again into preferences -> behavior and activate the option to ignore folder specific display settings (it is in the upper segment of that page).
