I read some comments about Timeshift being very unreliable when restoring backups. The way it (and other statements) were written lead me to question if the author may be a bit 'over dramatic' so I'm looking for some second opinions.
If you've performed some restores with it, chime in and let me know how it went. Personally I've done one restore with no problems.

Re: Timeshift - is it reliable?
the small amount of use-age that I've done, does show that it does work okay,
but like everything, it's probably not bullet-proof.
ie: you would pay to have another backup method in place - - just in case.

Re: Timeshift - is it reliable?
Have used it a few times to restore...
All went fine, no complaints.
Happy to have it.

Re: Timeshift - is it reliable?
I have it installed via Mint 19 Beta.
I have some snapshots, hoping it retains my personal data and desktop settings. I know that it was originally intended just as a system restore tool, but I don't really have much need for that if my settings don't also get restored.
I need to review the settings again and see what it says it will include.

BTW: the manual says: "Snapshots are saved by default on the system (root) partition in path /timeshift." ... actually, that is Not True. It actually created a /timeshift folder in the / partition of Another Operating System On Another Disk Drive! not acceptable.
