[Solved] Where's the "Tags Panel" in Rednotebook

Post by Captain Brillo » Sun Jun 10, 2018 12:39 pm

I've installed Rednotebook 2.5 and I'm browsing the help contents.
Can't figure out the "tags" because I can't find the "tag panel" on the right, that is now hidden by default. "Drag the slider to the left to see it." the help says.
Where's the slider?
Even in full screen, or very small screen, no sliders show up.

Anybody know what I'm missing or have done wrong?

Every time I bork the Linux box, I learn something new - what a blast!

Tags appear in the panel below the search field, to the left of the main screen. If you make an entry starting with eg. #cmd that tag will appear on your tag list. If you've just installed red note book the tag list will be empty
When all else fails follow the instructions

Thank you.
That "slider' thing in the help threw me right off.
The word "tag" is no where to be seen.
Ol now.

I wanted the right panel on (just because). Took me a few minutes to figure out to make it appear when the default is set to have it off, but I done it!

You need to open ~/.rednotebook/configuration.cfg with a text editor.
Then look for this line near the end of the file: showTagsPane=0.
Just change the 0 to a 1 and then you will have the right panel showing, which you can then resize as you see fit.

Thought I'd mention it in case anyone else out there prefers having the right panel showing up for hash tags.
