winehq-stable gives error on installation

Post by asamolion » Thu Jun 14, 2018 3:06 pm

Hi all,

I've been trying to install wine through the official docs given here https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu
(this adds an additional repository to the system)

However when I run

Code: Select all

sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable
It gives me this error

Code: Select all

I'm running Linux Mint 18.3 64 bit on a Dell Inspirton 13 5378, kernel version 4.13.0-45-generic. Can anyone please point me on how to install wine on my machine?

E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
Open and login to Synaptic Package Manager, and from the menubar choose "Fix broken packages" . . please report any error messages.
