[SOLVED] Does MainMenu(Linux Mate) run in Mint..?

Hi guys,

Just added a few icons in my main menu. I like all my startups in that menu and not on my desktop. I did that editing in Linux's mint 'MenuLibre'. It works butcI found it very difficult to manipulate, not very logical is the least I would say.
My pal has Linux Mate and uses 'MainMenu' to edit is startmenu and all his icons.
Question is : Is it possible to run 'MainMenu' in Mint..

What is 'Linux Mate'? is that 'Ubuntu Mate'? Because there is also a 'Linux Mint Mate'.

Not yet done, just got info : it is a Ubuntu Mate 16.04.4

I know, but I want to use that Ubuntu tool in Mint18.3...
When I have a problem installing any printer in Mint, I need to ask here...not...?
Or if I do want to install non-Linux-related software in Mint, I also ask here.
To be clear I do not want to install in Ubuntu-OS
I'm pretty shure when I would ask in a Ubuntu-forum how to install that tool in Mint, they're going to point immediately at this forum.

Installed Mozo but it does not work at all.
The only thing I can do is move items up and down in the list. What I cannot do is create new menu's or items.

That's odd. Are the buttons for creating new menus and new items not present, or are they inactive?

buttons to create are present, when I click they do change colour for a sec. but noting happens.

I suppose you could try Alacarte. I'm not sure that it works in Mate.

No no it's not to be installed in Mate. I work exclusively with Mint.

Again, Mate is one of the versions that Mint comes with. You can have Mint Cinnamon, Mint Mate, Mint XFCE or Mint KDE. Check your System Info and you'll know which one you're using... it's good to be able to tell that when people ask. It's often important if you have a questions about the interface.

Glad to see that Alacarte does the job!

Except for my wife's (Mint-Cinnamon19)Laptop, all the rest(5) are running Mint-Xfce 18.3.
oh yes, and that little guy(eeePC) that one has Linux Antix-17
