Hi,
How do I set up recent documents to only work for certain applications? I neither want my spreadsheets nor my videos turning up in the Cinnamon menu, but I certainly do want my written documents, etc.

Re: Per-application recent documents
I think it's either on or off completely; there's no global per-application configuration for this.
Re: Per-application recent documents
I've never used any Linux DE that had this feature AFAIK.

Quick answer: As far as the desktop menu is concerned, it's global.
When dealing with desktop components these days look to freedesktop.org: Recent File Storage Specification
I don't know if anyone has ever tired to parse it and remove what they don't want.
In most cases, I've found Recently Used to get polluted with so much stuff that it becomes useless. I almost want a prompt that asks me first if a file should be remembered.
