...it looks like it wasn't included in Bionic: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pdfchain/
There exists a PPA for it here, no idea if it will work though.

Yes, it is. But pdftk is missing, so it won't be installed...

Maybe and just maybe, you can make it work with pdftk (2.02-4build1) from Ubuntu 17.10. It can be downloaded from: https://packages.ubuntu.com/artful/pdftk

...yeap, just had a quick look at it, and it seems that pdftk will need some serious re-writing in order to be re-included in Ubuntu's repos, due to other older dependencies having been dropped. At least it looks like it's currently being forked / re-worked, and hopefully such effort will be successful: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1028522 ... -04-bionic

Try Marziano's suggestion, it will work for now: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... comments/4

Mint 19 is BETA and therefore unsupported.

Even with a stable new release you'll find that many software packages aren't available for a while. Why should they be in a rush to package their software for an unsupported beta release? So the situation for betas is worse. Newbies installing beta OS releases is just nuts.

...and the exact same people, posting every single day with their morning coffee,
the exact same old-tired (and frequently irrelevant) comments about 'newbies' in those forums, are probably equally nuts...

The OP asked a simple question, he/she didn't asked to be indoctrinated, neither to have his/her own knowledge questioned.

gcc 7 upstream deprecated gcj. Debian went with it eventually as time passed on, Ubuntu 18 also followed such...
Release announcement: https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-7/changes.html
Hint: it doesn't contain absolutely anything referring to 'betas' or 'newbies' whatsoever.

It's so tiring to read such comments day after day after day being directed towards new forum members judging their level of knowledge and competence by the number of their posts. Thank you for bringing that up. You speak my mind as well.

Cheers

@MSNBC, @Marziano, @thx-1138, the Ask Ubuntu question in post #5 now has an answer (https://askubuntu.com/a/1048975) indicating that a snap for pdftk is available. I don't use snaps or flatpaks (or pdftk) myself but just thought I mention it :)

My post count is pretty low. I didn't start using Linux until 1997, although I had used Solaris for a few years before that. I didn't get serious with Linux until nearly 1999.
