Running extremely slow!

Hi
I got tired of windows after I ran into another problem in Windows 10 - the disk started going to 100%
So I installed Linux Mint - 10 years ago I used Ubuntu...
The USB edition ran smooth... But... The system goes slow! My disk and everything else looks fine now, but something makes it slow and I have been working with it for weeks now - can it be something from my Windows problem causing problems or anything else? (It also boots very slow and sometimes it can take a minute when I push something before anything happens)

Sped-up done - cant see any changes, since it is still slow...
Dunno why, but my computer cant shut down gnome-keyring-daemon when shutting down - just bonus info!

An ailing hard disk will suffer silently, all you see from the outside is a slow OS. You can test the drive with the Disks accessory using the read-only benchmark and the SMART report.

Sry. It is a problem Many has ran into on Windows, there are some different solutions on it.
It is simply the antivity shown when you push ctrl alt del, where it tells the disk activity.

Depending on the PC model, if you boot from a USB drive, the BIOS will continue to emulate the USB as a disk drive after boot-up. Sometimes, this is done at USB 1.0 speed instead of the USB 2.0 or3.0 speed that the interface is capable of. The device will run at the much higher speed only if it is NOT the boot device.

Dying disk. Usually goes from bad to worse rapidly. Replace it ASAP.
