Wrong fonts used in Firefox after installing emoji.

Post by Bronze Globe »

I followed the instructions here for installing emoji for Firefox.

Emojis look better, now. Some fonts are not displayed correctly. They seem to fallback to serif. I've noticed it of the fonts used in Wireclub chats. They include Comic Sans, Arial, and a few others. The Fontfinder addon for Firefox is telling me that what should be Comic Sans MS is being rendered as Comic Sans MS, that Arial is being rendered as Arial, but clearly I don't see those fonts. I'm not sure what to do!

I'm using Firefox 60.0.2, and Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 32-bit.

I have found it also appears to affect Thunderbird, not just Firefox.

How could this problem be diagnosed? I do not know where to start. I'd really like to have both the right fonts showing, and emojis!

If I put this post under the wrong heading, please, let me know!
