Task Coach V. 1.4.3-6 on Mint 19

Hello,
I have a problem with the Software Task Coach on Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.
The Software won't launch via GUI or Terminal, I only get errors and I have no idea what they mean.
This is what the Terminal gives me when I try to launch the Program.

No Idea if something is missing or if the packages are just damaged (I reinstalled it 2 times so I don't think that the later is the case).
I used the Software Manager for installation.

My System is:
Linux Mint Cinnamon 19
Cinnamon version: 3.8.7
Linux Kernel: 4.15.0-24-generic

Sorry if the problem is obvious but I'm new to all this.

You can try uninstall with apt purge command and reinstalling the same.

Couldn't find the problem and purge as well as reinstall didn't work.
Just removed the software since I found the integrated System Monitor

Hello;

Task Coach V. 1.4.3-6 fails to launch on LM 19 Mate as well.

Attempting launch, the HD LED indicator shows launch activity, however Task Coach never appears on the screen.

Uninstall, re-install, no luck, removed software.


The Task coach version that installs with LM 18.3 worked correctly on my existing hardware, so appears not to be the issue.


Per system monitor:

Linux Mint
Release Linux Mint Mate 19 Tara 64-bit
Kernel Linux 4.15.0-24-generic x86_64
Mate 1.20.1

Hardware
Memory: 1.9 Gib
Processor: Pentium (R) Dual-Core CPU E5800 @ 3.2 GHz x 2

System Status
Available disk space: 75.9 GiB



Task Coach is a wonderful program, I used it every day.
I hope the experts here can resolve this issue.

Hello;

Until (if) addressed, a workaround;

Task Coach (Windows Version 1.4.4, December 2, 2018) works for my system with LM19 Mate/Winetricks 4.0.

From LM19 Mate Software Manager:
Installed Winetricks 4.0

Then;
Created a Temp directory using Wine (/home/MB/.wine/drive_c/Temp);
D/L Task Coach (Windows Version 1.4.4) & copied to Temp directory (created above);
Installed Task Coach (Windows Version 1.4.4) using Wine's built in installer;

Copied TaskCoachFiles.tsk and TaskCoachFiles.tsk.delta from;
/home/MB
and pasted into;
/home/MB/.wine/drive_c/users/MB

Use Task Coach.

NOTE:
In above; "MB" represents "your user name"

The steps above may not be the most efficient or others may find simpler way, however, worked.

Hi! You don't mention which version of Taskcoach you installed. I am using Linux Mint v19.0 Mate on a Desktop with AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core Processor.

The version of Taskcoach in the repositories does not work, but if you wander over to

and download and install it appears to work perfectly. Yes, I know I am using the Mate DE and not Cinnamon but it may still be worth giving it a go

Hello All;

Found this link with instructions to install Taskcoach PPA;

As a test, removed the windows version in wine, & installed the ppa in synaptic.

The updated Taskcoach (Version 1.4.4) became available in Software Manager.

Installed through software manager, seems to work in LM19 Mate!
