[SOLVED] Magento requires PHP 7 or 7.1

Hello,
IN order to install Magento the prerequisites is it requires The required PHP version is ~7.0.13|~7.1.0. Hide detail
I have 3 versions of PHP installed.

/usr/bin/php  /usr/bin/php7.1.0  /usr/bin/php7.2
php -v
PHP 7.2.7-1+ubuntu18.04.1+deb.sury.org+1 (cli) (built: Jun 22 2018 08:45:49) ( NTS )

I removed php with

apt purge php7.2

But I am not able to install magento and also php -v shopws php version as 7.2

Please guide on how to get to install Magento with PHP version 7.0 or 7.1

The environment is Mint 19 Cinnamon host and Ubuntu 18.04 server as guest running under Vmware 14.I am trying to install Magento on the guest i.e. Ubuntu 18.04 server.
