Problems with firefox button and okular menu

Post by Mithrandir »

Hi, I have a strange problem on MInt 18.3 kde. I have a NVIDIA GM108M [GeForce 940M] using the nvidia driver for this hybrid graphic card. I can switch between nVidia card and intel card easily with the nvidia-prime-applet on the panel.

Until some weeks ago all worked fine, but recently some buttons of firefox doesn't work. For instance on the top at right firefox has the button menu to access all functions, but doesn't open the menu. So I had to use the menu bar with "File", "Modify", etc. More problems with Okular and Soundkonverter, where the menu bar on the top with "File", "Modify" or "Conversion" (in SoundKonverter), doesn't work. Chromium and Libreoffice work fine.

The strange thing is that this happen if I use the intel graphic card. If I select the nvidia graphic card and I reboot to apply the change, all menu works fine...
The only problem when I use the nvidia graphic card is that I can't suspend or to do the hibernation, because after the system is not be able to resume and I had to reboot the system.

Is it possible to identify and to solve these problems with firefox, okular and soundkonverter at least?

Thanks in advance

One more problem is that if I try to open the program "driver-manager" from menu the system freezes, but if I open it form terminal as root it works...
I have already tried to create a new user, but nothing changed.
