Graphic Design: Home Made Business card?

Post by wutsinterweb » Wed Jul 25, 2018 8:30 pm

I want to design myself a couple business cards and submit them to a discount maker online once designed. I want to embed images, design logo, use various Fonts, and colors/patterns. I don't have any solid idea yet what I want.

What software would you use in Linux to do this? Do I need to dive deep into gIMP or is there something else?

I have a very active imagination but it takes me days to get hit with the idea bug.
I'm just a student, your guidance is appreciated.

I designed my company logo in Inkscape and I would recommend that. It's vector based so everything is infinitely scaleable and adding bitmaps in is no problem.

Here's a blank Libreoffice Writer template made for business cards.

Glabels, available in Software Manager, is another candidate.

2nd vote for Glabels.
It is a great program, quite powerful, easily resize (scale), and move elements around. I have "some" GIMP experience, but if you want easy Glabels is it.

I have used both Glabels and LibreOffice in the past. Both work fine.

I'm with RichyRich, I developed a template in Werd years ago and still use it (in Libre Office) today.

I use Scribus (in Software Manager), and it works just fine.
