I can't help with specifics, but I would gently suggest that if you had searched the links you were given a little harder than you did, you'd have found a little more info. The WINE website does in fact have that game.brooks wrote:1. i am noob and this is my first post so hopefully it is satisfactory
2. I'm trying to run Sins of a Solar Empire on my comp. i know i have all the requirements on my comp, as well as my nvidia driver working and wine worked while i downloaded it, however when i try to run SoaSE it gives me this error
"The program SINS_launcher.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience.
This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. wou may want to check http://appdb.winehq.org for tips about running this application.
If this problem is not present under windows and has not been reported yet, you can report it at http://bugs.winehq.org.
The website doesnt have sins of a solar empire on it so that didnt really help. Honestly i have no idea where to start and if you try to give me instructions just note that i have very little knowledge of linux/mint as i just started using it. Further note: this is my second attempt to install a game. the first was trying to install rise of nations: rise of legends, however that was an epic 4 hour fail as i couldnt get it to eject the disc, and yes i tried wine eject, and many variations of umount however all of them resulted in the same cd is busy ****.
Any help is great.

Also, you may have better luck with WINE implementations specifically focusing on gaming, such as Cedega or Crossover Games (these cost, though).
