Can't refresh Update Manager (Google Earth related & more)

Post by curtvaughan »

I also have this issue. When I do a refresh in Update Manager, it immediately returns "Your system is up to date". If I get out of Update Manager and run the update process from the terminal, I get the updates successfully:

I also have this issue.
For fixing
N: Skipping acquire of configured file 'main/binary-i386/Packages' as repository 'http://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb stable InRelease' doesn't support architecture 'i386'
open a terminal and run

Code: Select all

xed admin:///etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-earth-pro.list
type in your password. When the file opens, replacedeb http://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb/ stable mainwith

Code: Select all

deb [arch=amd64] http://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb/ stable main
save and close the file.
Setting up keyboard-configuration (1.178ubuntu2.3) ...

update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)
Processing triggers for ureadahead (0.100.0-20) ...
ureadahead will be reprofiled on next reboot
Reboot and runsudo apt update once again and see if there are any other error messages.

Thanks, Marziano! That fixed the google earth sources issue. I'll see within a few days if that was also causing the graphical Update Manager to burp.

Much appreciated.

curtvaughan, could you please make sure that you post your replies in this thread here and not in the other thread, which is Doug B's thread and from which your thread has been split off.
Will spare me moving over posts.
