An error message often indicates that there is some sort of problem, perhaps even an error of some sort; usually the error message tells something about the problem, so you might be able to figure out what the problem is by posting the error message.

I have upower.service, not upowerd. Curious - why do you want to disable/remove it? If you really want to, this should do the trick:

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl disable upower

great! that works.

as i understand, it's just for battery management, and i don't have a battery.
it runs continually in the background, and i'm trimming down my mint to run on minimal RAM.
