Hi guys and gals
Does someone have a suggestion for me to have a video editing program that works with Linux Mint 19 (Tara) to create from scratch perfect videos?
Before, with Linux 18 we had multiple programs that worked fine, but now I'm lost because I don't find them. I only found the Open Shot Video Editor, but this one does not work well.
Thank you in advance for your help

Hi Sineh,
I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.
Big +1 for "Kdenlive" which is in the "Synaptic Package Manager SPM" (install all recommended and suggested packages) also has an AppImage installation option and they have a Stable and Developer Master PPA (LM 19 only) as well. Their Stable PPA below is good for Linux Mint 18.x and 19.x. For Linux Mint 18.x and 19.x, I use the "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" and then the PPA, and or AppImage. There are many good Kdenlive tutorials on YouTube and elsewhere.
To install Kdenlive using the PPA method, open a console terminal, type in, or copy & paste, each line below one by one: Click "Select All" above command, right-click the highlighted command, select Copy (or Ctrl+Insert), click in the console terminal window, and right click paste (or Shift+Insert), repeat for each command.
Kdenlive AppImages - click a mirror link to download
https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/ ... mirrorlist
If you search for "video edit" in the "Synaptic Package Manager SPM", you will see other video editors that you can install, like Openshot, Pitivi, lives, etc... And of course, there are other video editors available that are not in the Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager like Shotcut, Lightworks (lws), etc...
Hope this helps ...

Re: Video Editor
If you are going to use kdenlive, and prefer to have the latest versions, my advice to install it from flathub: https://flathub.org.
if you use PPA the updates come much later, or if you use appimage, you won't have the easiness of the updates.
