How-To-Install [NETFLIX]

Post by kerry87 »

I just tried this but I get

Code: Select all

E: Unable to locate package netflix-desktop
Any ideas for other repositories that might have the package?

If you're trying to watch Netflix on your computer, you don't need to do that stuff; you can watch it w/o wine and thru firefox or chrome.

Is that what you want to do?

Telling from the Compholio Launchpad PPA webpage, the most recent Ubuntu version, for which a netflix-desktop package is available, is Ubuntu 15.04.
So maybe this PPA has reached the end of its life?

Yes, certainly because you can easily and simply watch Netflix with Firefox for a while !

The reason I want to use the desktop app instead of just using Firefox is that it has the option to show me the video in a small window in the top right corner, which is displayed "always on top". So with the app I can watch Netflix while working on the rest of the screen. The browser version doesn't come with that option.
