No sound with the browsers

Bonjour,

I am on Linux Mint 17 cinnamon 32 bits.
I have a problem with Firefox (also the same problem with chromium) since I installed the updates asked by the system with the upadates manager.
I don't have sound no more on brwoser with youtube et I have to dowload the videos I want to see to have sound because my computer have the sound OK with the software named "videos".

Do you think I have to put the sytem as it was before the update ?

I had a similiar issue
Fix for me was to click the volume applet
Open audio settings
And select another output device and then re select the old device
Or plug in and then plug out headphones or speakers to refresh it

I did not solved the problem so I uninstall linux mint 18 and installed Linux Mint 19 instead ....

But the problem for me now is that I'm afraid to update my system in case I can meet the same problem !

Yes you're right, thank you. But I cannot stay by month in that case. So I decided that solution.
