XPlayer doesn't install plugin required for MIDI files

Post by Kyowash »

I'm trying to reproduce a MIDI file in XPlayer, but it says I need to install the gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad plugin. When I click on the "install" button in the dialog, nothing happens. I tried to install it via the Software Manager, but it turned out it was already installed:

Code: Select all

$ dpkg -s gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad
Package: gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad
Status: install ok installed
Priority: extra
[...]
After clicking on the button, the following entries appear in the syslog:

Is there a way to reproduce MIDI files in XPlayer, or is any alternative recommended instead?

You also need fluid-soundfont-gm

viewtopic.php?t=212605

Alternatively, you can install a VLC plugin called vlc-plugin-fluidsynth to play midi files in VLC.
