MySQL Server wont start

hi,

i cant start a mysql server on my system

mint@mint:/var/run$ sudo service mysql restart

Hi linuxxSQL,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum!

It would help to know more about your system setup like which edition and version of Linux Mint you are using. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" and "lsusb" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.

How did you install MySQL server through the Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager (SPM) or using some other method? Why did you install MySQL for what purpose(s)?


You can always remove or remove completely (purge) MySql server from the "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" and reinstall it.
