Laravel development in LM version 18.2

Hi guys,
I am using Linux Mint 18.2 for a year now (continuously). I recently started development on Linux, for that I installed xampp 7.2, but I had to install php7.2. then everything was going well till when I needed the database.

I usually use artisan for laravel and xampp control panel for launching MySQL/phpmyadmin, and it works. yesterday I copied my laravel app from office to home (so I don't had to run composer install and npm install) then ran "php artisan migrate". there was an error saying "could not find driver SQL". Do I need to install MySQL separately? then how will I access that MySQL? by running separately from terminal??
