How to get Etrade Pro to run on Linux Mint 19
I did a google search and found a post from 2016 for how to run Etrade on Ubuntu. I'm totally new to linux and planning the switch from windows after 20 years and this is my only sticking point. From what I am aware of I can run Etrade Pro from the java platform on the website. However, I would like to download the actual program to start it from my desktop to log into it. I contacted Etrade and they said they had no plans of supporting linux but I imagine there is a way? Thank you!

Yes, that's the exact same one I found but it was for Ubuntu and an older version from 2 years ago at that. Will those commands exactly as written work for mint 19? I guess that was part of my question as well. I didn't want to just type in those commands and ruin something.
