Alarm clock recommendations? [Solved]

Post by lazarus » Tue Sep 18, 2018 5:56 am

LM18.3 Cinnamon x64

I'm looking for a simple alarm clock... preferably one that can accept multiple times for the alarm.

I don't particularly want a permanent desktop icon/window or panel indicator - only when it is actually running.

Nor do I wish something that has fancy bells 'n whistles... it's not desirable that it can catalog my mp3s and cross-reference them with network metadata while composing haikus based on algorithms defined from my browser's history usage.

Just a plain, simple alarm clock please!

I may be weird but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

I would help you if I had experience with such. However, I wanted to let you know that the above gave me a much needed beginning of the day chuckle. Loved it. Many thanks.

There's an app called "Alarm Clock" (it might read "alarm-clock-applet" or something like that in Synaptic). I use it and it suits my needs just fine. Not sure if it will suit yours, but it's worth checking out.

alarm-clock-applet fits the bill nicely. Thank you!

(In all honesty, that's the one I had in mind when I first asked. However when I looked it up in the 'applets' DL Mgr it wasn't listed and I assumed that it wasn't supported under LM18. So I didn't bother checking synaptic. As the saying goes: "we know what happens when you assume..." )
