as title says.
With Kernel: 4.15.0-34-generic x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 5.4.0)
Desktop: Cinnamon 3.6.7 (Gtk 3.18.9-1ubuntu3.3) Distro: Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia
the USB port keeps timing out, and shutting the Wireless mouse FOB down.
the only way to get it going again, is pull the FOB and plug it back in.
I am now typing while using LMDE3-Cindy which I have had running for over an hour, never once lost the mouse.
So, what if, in 18.3 I switched to a different kernel series? it used to have 4.4.x at one time
Can I install the latest version in that series and be done with this mouse problem?
Mouse not working with 4.15 kernel, how about changing to a different series kernel

You can install whatever kernel you want, Update Manager > View > Linux kernels.

guess I should have said "without causing problems"....
I will try the latest LTS of a different version then.

You can always switch back if there are other problems. Personally I ditched the 4.15 series long ago, had nothing but problems with it.

If you want to test if USB autosuspend is the issue, this page might help.

tried all of that, and then a lot of things everyone suggested.
Nothing has stopped 4.15 from suspending the mouse.

I need a different kernel for 18.3, this mouse AutoSuspend is driving me to drink, and I never touch alcohol.
4.4 won't even boot on this laptop, which one are you using now?

I got down on my knees, and prayed to the Mouse Gods to puhleaze let me type in peace

Well no wonder you're having problems!!! Use the keyboard for typing! The mouse is for mousing.
