K3B how to install FLAC and other plugins?

Post by ianbaxterAND »

Hey guys,
I just updated to Mint 19 - really loving it. However I tried to burn a CD for my dad and Brasero was just ejecting the blank disk. So I've installed K3B from the Software Manager and it looks like it needs extra plugins to deal with FLAC (and MP3, etc.)

Anyone know how you install these plugins?

Here's a link to the FLAC one for example: https://github.com/KDE/k3b/tree/master/ ... coder/flac

Hi ianbaxter,

Search for "k3b" in the "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" and install any related packages and right-click k3b and install all the suggested and recommended packages, also install "ubuntu-restricted-extras", "udftools" (with recommended and suggested packages), and if you are not using Linux Mint KDE desktop, make sure the "kde-runtime" is also installed (safe on any edition of Linux Mint.

You may want to restart your computer before using it.

Hope this helps ...
