[Solved]File roller cannot extract password protected exe

Postby bharani » Thu Jun 18, 2009 11:22 pm

In felicia i created some password protected exe files (archives) of some documents using file roller.
I have no problem extracting them in felicia. It works just like any other password protected archives.
But in gloria i cannot extract them.
File Roller gives the following error

Code: Select all

End-of-central-directory signature not found.  Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive.  In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.

In addition to that file roller cannot create any more exe file archives. It seems that this feature has been depreciated.
Can anyone say how can i extract those file.
Or how can i install older version of file roller.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe it needs some extras, like..
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/File%20Roller
Needs the p7zip package, which doesn't provide multi-volume support. To support password-protected archives, needs the p7zip-full package

http://fileroller.sourceforge.net/
