Kate and Preview [Solved]

I'm using Kate to develop a small website. I've been trying to install a preview plugin without success in Mate 18.3.

Am I right in thinking that the Tool View/Show Preview available for Kate in Kubuntu does not work in Mint Mate?

It would help to know more about your system setup. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.

What is the name of the plugin and is there a link to it you can share with us?


After a quick search I found this, but nothing was in it except to say that it was merged into the KDE Kate system?

You can always install the "kde-runtime" which is okay to do in any Linux Mint system.

Here is "Kate" ver 16.08 as an AppImage which may be better. My Linux Mint KDE 18.3 system has Kate version 16.04.
