Burning an audio CD

Post by petedecember » Wed Oct 17, 2018 10:14 am

Help! How do I burn an audio CD? I have installed both K3B and Brasero and both are talking about me needing libraries. The "Software Manager" icon does not have the required files, specifically MAD MP3 and K3B MAD MP3 plugin. Where can I get them, or how can I burn a audio CD without them? Thanks in advance.

In K3b install libk3b6-extracodecs

Code: Select all

apt install libk3b6-extracodecs

as a rule, I've always used 'Brasero' as it comes with the system,
but I've also used both K3b & XFburn as well & they all seem to work okay.

as far as any extra needed files, the file called 'libmp3lame0' should be already installed,
and is used for those MP3 conversions.

An update-- I figured out that if I first create a disk image (.iso) and I can then burn the image to the disk. For some reason I cannot directly burn an audio CD, but I can live with what I've got. Thanks for you help.

You did not specify that you wanted to copy a cd, but that you wanted to burn one.
Good that you got it sorted though

Actually I wanted to create an audio CD from a bunch of .mp3s. The only way I could end up doing it was to create and .iso and then burn the disc image. As I said, I got it working via my little work-around, but still would be nice to have it work the way it should. Thanks for the help, and any future if you want to keep at this.
