[SOLVED] Synaptic Update Could not download all repository indexes

Post by folium »

Good day to you!

So the Update Manager shows me this message:
Could not download all repository indexes

The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct.

An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error: http://mirrors.evowise.com/linuxmint/packages sonya Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG A6616109451BBBF2 Linux Mint Repository Signing Key <root@linuxmint.com>Failed to fetch http://mirrors.evowise.com/linuxmint/pa ... elease.gpg The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG A6616109451BBBF2 Linux Mint Repository Signing Key <root@linuxmint.com>Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
and I don't know if I should be worried now.

It sounds like that mirror may have been down at the time or was syncing. Try again if it persists try a different mirror.

That mirror has gone bad a few days ago, we've had a few posts about it. You must switch to a different mirror.

Hi,
Got the same issue. Switching mirrors generates others issues with GPG. May you recommend to the right source?

In Software Sources, click the "Restore the default settings" button instead of using a mirror to make sure your issue is really with the mirrors. If the problem goes away then it was, so either pick a working mirror (trial and error) or stick with the defaults. Otherwise make a new thread.

Thanks for the note. In my case the working solution originates from here https://cortman.wordpress.com/2012/02/2 ... in-ubuntu/
The issue was with GPG keys. I have to manually download public keys , Nevertheless the Update Manager working fine now.
