Can't Find Repository <SOLVED>
For a couple of days now, I'm getting a big X on the icon that shows when updates are ready to install. I click on it and then on Refresh updates, and get the following error message:
"The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct.
Repository 'http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable Release' changed its 'Origin' value from 'Google, Inc.' to 'Google LLC'"
I've tried changing to a different mirror, but get the same error, with the suggestion that my internet isn't working, but it is! As you can see because I'm posting this. Any help much appreciated.

Re: Can't Find Repository
Thanks! When I run it this is what I get; Is it safe to answer Y or is it possible that that means the repository isn't secure?:

Re: Can't Find Repository
It can mean that, but in this case it was a legit change, Google changed that value to reflect their changed company structure. You're all good now, the change just had to be accepted once.
Re: Can't Find Repository
Thanks. I am here with the same problem
I ran the command but it rapidly moved on before I could answer Yes
Running it again doesn't give me option to choose. My case is also complicated by the fact that I avoid kernel updates. They end up forcing keyboard cursor freeze and am sticking to the old kernel version that works.
Now if I try to update from update manager, it first gives me the Chrome repository warning and then if I force to update it starts downloading all updates including kernel which I want to avoid
My thought is to roll back to a previous timeshift and do something (I don't know what) or just live with this problem of not having any updates
what is the best way going forward?
Thanks in advance

Re: Can't Find Repository
Yes, that's expected. The way I gave the command it automatically confirms without requiring your input. The issue should be fixed now.
But I don't understand this part:
First of all reload Update Manager by starting it from the Mint menu. Then apply your updates normally, and if what you describe happens please post a screenshot?

@gm10
Thanks for your reply.
Before I even saw this today, I booted the laptop and all was fine . I was able to update selectively
I would have marked it solved but I am not the OP
Thanks for your time and advice
